History
The Wheatsheaf Inn was originally built in the 13th century as an Ale House and licensed as a Coaching Inn in the 17th century serving the Mail Route between Conwy and Chester until 1870. The Inn is situated in the picturesque village of Betws yn Rhos, opposite the famous twin towered church of St. Michael.
Betws-Yn-Rhos was voted "Best village in Wales 2003" and has a bowling green, tennis courts and "pay and play" golf course.
The village is a short drive into the country behind Abergele and Colwyn Bay on the B5381 St.Asaph to Conwy Road.
The main features of the Inn are its splendid brass strewn oak beams, stone pillars and original hayloft ladder. Combine these with the cosy, friendly, olde worlde charm of the Lounge Bar, and the Restaurant with its intimate atmosphere, and the Wheatsheaf Inn is the ideal place to spend your lunchtime or evening.
